St Mary's Catholic Primary is a 'Good' school... Pupils' progress and achievement are now good... Standards in English and mathematics at the end of Year 6 are above average... Good provision in EYFS mean children settle quickly and make good progress...97% attendance....

Primary Sport Premium

 

 

The Primary Sports Premium Funding is given to Primary Schools to get more people playing sport safely from a young age, and help them keep playing sport throughout their life, no matter what their economic or social background.

Schools can choose how they use the funding, for example to:

  • hire specialist PE teachers or qualified sports coaches to work with primary teachers during PE lessons
  • provide resources and training courses in PE and sport for teachers
  • run sport competitions or increase pupils’ participation in the School Games
  • run sports activities with other schools
  • subsidise the cost of swimming at an offsite venue

For the Financial Year ending 31st March 2018, St. Mary’s Catholic Primary school received £12,666 in Sports Premium Funding.

The Sport Premium was spent on:

 

In the financial year 2015-16 we will spend some of the funding on:

  •  Multi-sports x 3 terms: £1965
  • Marathon running £200 
  • Professional fees £9930 

 

The Funding has enabled:

  • Pupils to enjoy a wider range of sporting activities
  • Pupils to increase their enjoyment of sports with the potential outcome of a healthier lifestyle and enthusiasm to continue participation in Sports in Secondary School
  • Pupils have been helped to raise their self esteem
